Parents/Guardians with children in Grade 7

Greetings,
I hope you and your family had a wonderful and fun summer break. This letter is to inform you that registration for your child’s Confirmation is now open for the 2023/2024 school year.
The Second Vatican Council teaches that parents, “by word and example, are the first Heralds of the faith with regard to their children.” Therefore, it is both the right and duty of parents to take an active part in their child’s spiritual formation. It is also the responsibility of the parish to encourage and support parents in the faith formation of their children. This often involves providing specific catechesis on the sacraments for both parents and children.
The guidelines of the archdiocese of Toronto on Sacramental Preparation states: Sacraments are first and foremost, acts of Jesus, in union with the members of His body, the church. The church, therefore, is responsible for determining the specifics of sacramental preparation and celebration. This involves providing catechesis on the sacraments for parents and children.
Registration forms of the 2023/2024 school year for Confirmation are now available online at https://stmargmary.com or can be picked up at the parish office.
Please complete and return to the parish office with a copy of your child’s Baptismal certificate, Confirmation certificate of Sponsor and fee of $75.00 (cash or cheque only). Registration will close on October 16, 2023. Incomplete registrations will not be accepted.
There will be a parent meeting on November 16, 2023 at 6pm at St. Margaret Mary Church.
